Our Favorite Perennials
We just love perennials. They
take so much of the work out of gardening. Plant them once and enjoy
them for years to come. Great for gardens and containers! Our collection has been selected to thrive in Northern Virginia. Call for availability.

Heuchera
Also known as coral bells, Heuchera boasts brightly colored leaves for ten months of the year and dainty flowers in early summer. They are terrific in containers and in the garden; we like to mix them with hostas and ferns. These hardworking favorites make a wonderful border and thrive in shade or part shade. |
Black Currant "Proven Winner"
Dark purple leaf with silver accents.
This georgeous heuchera contrasts beautifully with any white and green hosta. |
|
Key Lime Pie
This bright lime green foliage brightens pots and flower beds. Enjoy the dainty pink flowers in the spring.

Georgia Peach
This heuchera is perfectly suited to our Virginia climate. These peach-colored leaves provide color throughout the growing season.

Veronica
Intensely brilliant blue flowers smother
the low growing foliage of this creeping plant. The bright blue
lights up the garden when little else is growing from March into
April. It grows 3• tall and is deer resistant. Perennial that
loves sun or mostly sunny areas. |

Japanese Painted Fern
Lovely silvery fronds with purple accents. This versatile fern loves shade and is deer resistant.
We love it paired with Charmed Wine Oxalis and pink begonias. |

|
Baptisia
With spikes
of pretty blooms from May into June, this flowering perennial
has everything going for it. Very easy to grow and vigorous, it is
deer resistant, long lived, and has a pretty •bush• like shape when
not in bloom. Blooms May into June. We recommend any of the Baptisia for full sun or afternoon sun.

Hosta
These hardworking perennials are the backbone
of many beautiful gardens and container plantings. |
|
Coconut Custard
What a cute little mini hosta! It has yellow heart-shaped leaves,
very symmetrical on a 6• tall mound. Vigorous and sturdy, it will
add a spot of color in every shady garden. The blooms are held
neatly above the leaves and the light purple color contrast nicely
with the leaves. Our hosta aficionados will appreciate the
purple petioles and the heavy substance of the waxy leaves. |
|
Cracker Crumbs
Bright chartreuse leaves with a shiny dark
green margin on another cute mini hosta. This one has a good growth
rate filling in its little spot in the front of the garden. It will
grow to 6• tall and has lavender flowers in July. You will love this
cutie! |
|
Creeping Phlox
You know spring is here
when you see the cheerful blooms covering the entire plant! Grows 6"
tall and likes lots of sun. We love creeping phlox because it is so
colorful when the rest of our garden is still asleep. Evergreen,
blooms end of March through April. Native. |

Bleeding Heart
We never imagined there could be an improvement over our
grandmother's bleeding heart, but here it is. Pink flowers appear
all season long. This is deer resistant and grows 10" to 12" tall.
It enjoys shade or part shade, perfect for the front of the border
or in a container. |
